  • Candidates for this Award must:

    • Be proposing to undertake a full-time Honours year in the Faculty of Science, undertaking specialisation in Mathematics or Physics
    • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealander Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

    Selection is based on:Ìý

    • Academic merit
    • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
    • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
    • Aptitude and commitment to studies in Mathematics or Physics

  • Candidates for this Award must:

    • Be proposing or currently undertaking a full-time Honours program in the Faculty of Science

  • Candidates for this Award must:

    • Be enrolled in one of the following programs, with a project specialising in earth science and the environment:
      • Bachelor of Advanced Science
      • Bachelor of Science
      • Bachelor of Environmental Science

  • The aim of this scholarship is toÌýencourage female students to undertake an Honours program in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. This scholarship will be selected on the basis of highest WAM in Mathematics and Statistics courses, for female students intending to enrol in an Honours program in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.Ìý

    Candidates for this Award must:

    • Be commencing full-time Honours study in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
    • Be female
    • Be part of the Women in Mathematics Program

    Selection is based on:Ìý

    • Academic merit; the successful candidates will be selected for this scholarship on the basis of academic performance.
    • This scholarship does not require an applicationÌý- candidates will be identified by the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
  • Awarded to two studentsÌý(one female and one male) identified by the Head of School in consultation with a committee.

    Normally this will be the students with the highest WAM in any Advanced Mathematics program at the endÌýof Term 2 who will be enrolling in Honours in any Term the following year.

    ThisÌýscholarship will provide $5,000Ìýper awardeeÌý(total), if the selected students enrol in Honours in Advanced Mathematics.Ìý

    • Academic merit; the successful candidates will be selected for this scholarshipÌýby the Head of School in consultation with a committee.Ìý
    • This scholarship does not require an applicationÌý- candidates will be identified by the School of Mathematics and Statistics.Ìý

The Buchwald Award in Applied MathematicsÌý(one award of $500 for the best performance in Mathematics leading to Honours in Applied Mathematics),Ìý

The George Szekeres AwardÌý(one award of $500 for the best performance in Mathematics leading to Honours Year in Pure Mathematics)

The Alma Douglas Prize for Level 3 StatisticsÌý(one award of $500Ìýfor the best performance in Level 3 Statistics courses leading into Honours Year).
