Established in 2022, the ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society is the first Business Society to exist on any university campus in Australia dedicated to First Nations students. Our aim is to empower First Nations Business Students and contribute to the growth of the Indigenous Business sector in collaboration with our industry and government partners, and the wider community.

Welcome from the Society's Founder

We are in one of the best environments to be nurturing First Nations business leaders. ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø business degrees rank highly, including number one in Australia and in the top fifty worldwide. My vision for the ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society is to continue to grow and empower First Nations business students to be the best versions of themselves in their respective business fields.

I started the society because I believe that we are in one of the best environments to be nurturing Indigenous business leaders. My vision is to grow and empower Indigenous Business students to be the best versions of themselves in their respected business fields.

The society is open to all current ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø Indigenous Business and AGSM students and alumni. We have a great group of students and alumni who are a key part of the executive team and we’ve been working hard over the last six months to get things up and running.

We would love every Indigenous ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø Business School student to become part of the society and participate in the many events and activities we have on offer, contribute your ideas for growth, and make it a great society for us all.Ìý

Alex Sanderson,ÌýFounder and President of ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society, AGSM MBA (Executive) 2024

About us:

ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø Business School equips the next generation of business professionals with the skills to thrive in an ever-changing world.

In July of 2022, current Indigenous Business students discussed how we could build a community of students that will support each other through their entire degree lifecycle, this is where the idea for the ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society was founded. From undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR research to our AGSM MBA cohorts, the ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø Business School offers an extensive choice of programs designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the contemporary workplace. Our curriculum is built with a ‘career ready’ mindset and students are immersed in active learning experiences and exposed to practical skills and tools they can immediately apply to real business problems.

As the first society of its kind on any university campus in Australia, ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society is pioneering community led initiatives within business. Our society has more than 50 student members (and growing) in programs such as undergraduate, postgraduate, executive education and alumni of the business school, our students range in experience from first year undergraduate students, to working professionals with decades of experience to also successful entrepreneurs and we work with more than 10 industry partners (and growing)Ìý to build on the many different pathways for our members to become the future business leaders they aspire to be.

The ÁñÁ«¹ÙÍø First Nations Business Society offers the following services to our members:

  • Employment Pathways (Internships, casual work and fulltime)
  • Business Support from Industry
  • Industry mentorship
  • Conduct Skills Building and Master Classes
